Who am I?
Hi, I’m Adeline.
I’m French, living in the UK, and I founded The French class to help professionals, individuals and children communicate confidently with French colleagues, clients, friends or future friends, and truly understand French culture.
🌺 My experience
I’ve been teaching French for over a decade across France, Switzerland, China, the Czech Republic and Austria. 🌍
I’ve worked with learners of all ages and levels - from complete beginners to advanced speakers - both in private lessons and group settings, at Alliances Françaises, universities and schools.
I am specialised in French pronunciation using the Verbotonal Method (MVT – méthode verbo‑tonale), an approach that trains the ear before the mouth.
I also contribute to the French learning magazine Bien‑Dire.
🌺 Teaching through culture and creativity
I’ve taught pronunciation at summer camps for the University of Geneva and through theatre workshops at the University of Savoie, where performance and rhythm help learners embody the French language.
I've also trained in French Sign Language (LSF) for children, which reinforced my belief in multi-sensory learning: combining gesture, image and word creates multiple pathways to understanding and retention. Linking movement to speech makes language more tangible and memorable - especially for beginners and young learners.
As a certified DELF/DALF examiner and corrector (French proficiency certifications) I bring precise standards and real‑world insight into all my courses.
🌺 Instructional Design
Recently, I completed a second Master’s degree in Instructional Design.
My work combines 14+ years of international teaching experience with innovative digital learning design.
